Hovsep Khurshudyan, President of the “Free Citizen” Civic Initiatives Support Centre” NGO, wrote on his Facebook page:
“Samvel Asatryan, who volunteered for the 44-day war and was taken prisoner after being wounded, returned to Armenia and was hired in February of this year at the Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital as a cashier with a salary of 120,000 drams (including taxes), 6 hours a day until 15:00 p.m., because at that time rehabilitation therapy for the injured leg was scheduled.
During that period, he was even appointed senior treasurer, but since the workload does not increase much, he was able to do the job at the hours previously agreed with the directorate.
However, in June, the management of the Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital changed, and Vardan Avagyan, who had previously been the director of the National Center of Pulmonology in Abovyan (better known as the anti-tuberculosis dispensary), was appointed new director. Vardan Avagyan started gradually to move some of his former employees to a new job.
It is not clear whether it is within the framework of this process or not, but Samvel Asatryan was relieved in late June or early July (it is a pity that I have just learned about this case and from other sources). The most embarrassing episode in this story is that the hospital management puts the participant of the war, who has not yet fully recovered, in front of a choice: either you go to work on a full-time schedule, or you choose rehabilitation therapy visits and healing your foot.
Do the director of Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital Vardan Avagyan and the deputy director Mher Mkrtchyan have any comments on their action (if anyone has the addresses of their Facebook pages, please tag).
RA Ministry of Health, do you have many such cases in the system?
P.S. By the way, Samvel Asatryan has already finished his rehabilitation therapy.”
