Arthur Ghazinyan, a member of the “Armenia” Faction, has been nominated as a candidate for the chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security.
Head of the “Armenia” Faction Artsvik Minasyan introduced him.
The chairman of the commission Andranik Kocharyan asked a question to Artsvik Minasyan. “Mr. Ghazinyan’s declaration mentions a huge property. Have you discussed that issue in the “Hayastan” faction or not? From what sources did such a property come from?”
In response to the question, Artsvik Minasyan noted that the authority to verify the reliability of the information reflected in the official’s declaration, on all their sources belongs to the relevant state body, which is neither this commission nor the National Assembly.
“If there is any suspicion or misconception, the competent body may and have the opportunity to carry out the necessary investigation and to find out. As for the rhetorical question, Mr. Ghazinyan can address all those questions in detail. We in our faction are sure that all the declarations and information that are officially presented by him are reliable,” Minasyan said.
Member of the CP faction Kristine Poghosyan asked a question to Artsvik Minasyan. “Do you share Mr. Ghazinyan’s position that in 1998 Robert Kocharyan, by leaving Karabakh out of the negotiation stage, committed treason?”
He said he did not know whether Arthur Ghazinyan had made such a statement.
“Obviously, I cannot share a point of view concerning our difficult times, decisions that have played a significant role in our state, our biography as an independent state. I reaffirm that any action of Robert Kocharyan could not be a behavior to exclude Karabakh from the negotiation process,” Artsvik Minasyan mentioned.
During the response, Kristine Poghosyan added that Arthur Ghazinyan had stated this in several interviews and articles.
