In the context of the tough criminal law policy adopted by the RA Prosecutor’s Office against illegal logging, the Lori Regional Prosecutor’s Office is particularly consistent in giving mandatory legal assessments to the criminal manifestations of non-fulfillment or improper performance of their duties by the official responsible for forest protection.
Based on sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation of criminal cases under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, from 28 July to 1 September, 2021, a total of 9 officials, including 6 foresters and 3 rangers, are under Article 315 of the RA Criminal Code. Charges have been brought against them under Article 315, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code.
