On 1 September, at around 11:10 am, the Azeri Armed Forces once again provoked, firing sniper rifles at the Armenian positions in the Ararat region, particularly in the Yeraskh section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, resulting in a fatal gunshot wound. As a result a contract soldier of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, junior sergeant Gegham Lyova Sahakyan, born in 1982, was killed.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares the grief of the loss, expresses support to Gegham Sahakyan’s family members, relatives, and colleagues.
The Ministry of Defense strongly condemns the actions of the Azerbaijani side and warns that they will not go unanswered. The entire responsibility for the aggravation of the situation falls on the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan.
