According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, an earthquake was registered 13 km north-east of Bavra village, Shirak region.
On 17 August, at 09:43 local time (05:43 Greenwich Mean Time), the seismological network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia registered a 3.1 magnitude earthquake with geographical coordinates of latitude 41.17⁰ north latitude and 43.95 east longitude, 13 km north-east of Bavra village in Georgia-Armenia border zone. The epicenter was 10 km depth.
The magnitude of the earthquake in the epicenter was 4 points.
The earthquake was felt in Bavra and Ghazanchi villages of Shirak region of RA with 2-3 magnitude, in Metsavan village of Lori region with 2 magnitude.”
Notably, on 16 August, at 05:44 local time (01:44 Greenwich Mean Time), the seismological network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia registered a 4.5 magnitude earthquake with geographical coordinates of latitude 41.22 north latitude and 43.94 east longitude, 16 km north-east of Bavra village in Georgia-Armenia border zone. The epicenter was 10 km depth.
The magnitude of the earthquake in the epicenter was 6 points.
The earthquake was felt in RA Shirak and Lori marzes with 4-5 magnitude and in Tavush marz with 3-4 magnitude.”
It should be reminded that on 15 August, at 23:42 local time (19:42 GMT), the seismological network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia registered a 3.3 magnitude earthquake with geographical coordinates of latitude 41.20 north latitude and 43.95 east longitude, 15 km north-east of Bavra village in Georgia-Armenia border zone. The epicenter was 10 km depth.
The magnitude of the earthquake in the epicenter was 4-5 points.
The earthquake was felt in Bavra village of Shirak region with 3-4 magnitude, in Amasia, Zuygaghbyur villages with 3 magnitude and in Paghaghbyur, Metsavan villages of Lori region with 3 magnitude.
