On 7 August, the RA Minister of Defense Arshak Karapetyan introduced the newly appointed commander of the military unification, Colonel Alexander Tsakanyan to the leadership and subordinate units of the third military unification.

“The Defense Minister praised Colonel Tsakanyan’s contribution to army building and defense of the homeland, expressing confidence that the military unification, led by the newly appointed commander, will fully fulfill the tasks set before him. At the same time, Minister Karapetyan strictly instructed to stop all attempts of the enemy to cross the Armenian border.

During the working visit Arshak Karapetyan also visited the military units subject to military unification, laid flowers at the memorial to the servicemen killed in the last Artsakh war, as well as got acquainted with the educational and social-living conditions of the subdivisions. The head of the Ministry of Defense instructed to correct all the shortcomings and omissions registered by him in a short period of time.

“Alarm” was declared to check the combat readiness of the personnel, the tank and artillery units of the military unification.

At the end of the visit, Minister Karapetyan awarded a number of servicemen participating in the 44-day war with valuable gifts, instructed their superiors to present the most prominent servicemen to be awarded with departmental medals,” the statement reads.
