The World Chess Cup tournament continues in Sochi. The only representative of Armenia in the 1/32 final, 21-year-old Hayk Martirosyan, meets one of the strongest chess players in the world, Shahriyar Mammadyarov from Azerbaijan.
The first game of the sides took place today, Hayk played with white figures and on the 29th move forced his strong opponent to surrender.
The second game of the parties will take place tomorrow; the Armenian grandmaster will play with black figures.
