On 26 June, at 10:15 pm, the Vagharshapat police department received a call that a grenade had exploded, injuring two people.
The operative group found out that a father and son had an argument in one of the houses in the city of Etchmiadzin at about 10:15 pm, during which a 33-year-old man under the influence of alcohol beat his father, then took a grenade from the bedroom and pulled out the pin. The father, however, managed to escape. The young man, detonated the grenade, which killed the 48-year-old man who was present at the scene, and caused bodily injuries to him. He then was taken to the he was taken to hospital where he died.
A metal grenade ring was found in the living room and three 7.62 mm rifle bullets were found in the hallway.
Expert examinations have been appointed.
