The factions of the National Assembly of the Artsakh Republic have issued a statement, which reads:

“The war unleashed by Azerbaijan on 27 September, has put us all under the obligation to resolve the vital geopolitical and regional challenges, confronting security threats, and resolving the vital issues raised by the war.

For us, the homeland is paramount and precious, the preservation of the homeland, the reconquest of the lost and the restoration of the right of the people of Artsakh to live, develop and prosper in the homeland.

After the end of the war, polarizations are observed, which are accompanied by labeling. Different layers of the society have become the target of unnecessary insults. Threats are heard and phenomena inappropriate for the spirit of Armenian unity are manifested.

It is unacceptable and condemnable for us to undermine the moral and state foundations that unite the nation, to sow and incite hatred and enmity in the society, as a result of which artificial, tense situations arise. The statements that can drive a wedge between the citizens of Artsakh and Armenia are especially dangerous.

We call on everyone to be balanced, tolerant and respectful in expressing their opinions and approaches to each other. Unity is the important component in these difficult days that our homeland has befallen, to bring back what we have lost, to overcome this severe crisis, and finally to restore the faith of the Armenian people in the future.

We are convinced that the parliament, being a public body formed by the society, can serve as the best platform for dialogue to present the public demands, as well as to make the views of political and public structures tangible and practical.
