The information system of the Mother See has issued a statement, which reads:
“Within the framework of the pre-election campaign, Nikol Pashinyan, the candidate for the post of Prime Minister of the “Civil Contract” Party, continues to voice unjust accusations against the Armenian Church.
The attitude of the current government towards the national and spiritual values of the Church is known to our people. In this context, the behavior of the Acting Prime Minister towards the Church clergy should be considered.
The Armenian Church, in spite of all obstacles, the attitude of the authorities, will continue to carry out its soul-saving, patriotic mission in the life of the Armenian people,” the statement reads.
