The court upheld the motions of the body conducting the proceedings to apply arrest as measure of restraint against R.Kh., who was included in the list of candidates of the bloc participating in the 20 June, 2021 snap elections and G.P., a resident of Janfida village. “Notably, as a result of joint measures taken by the RA Police officers on 10 June, the above-mentioned two persons were caught in the house of G.P. in the village of Janfida at the moment of transferring the amount of 9,000,000 AMD election bribe.

Yesterday, the prosecutor supervising the legality of the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated in connection with the mentioned case, in accordance with the law, submitted motions to the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia, in order to initiate criminal prosecution against R.Kh. and to give consent to deprivation him of liberty, which was satisfied by the CEC.

R.Kh. and G.P. were charged under Article 34-154.2, Part 4, Clauses 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code, securing votes in favor of the bloc participating in the snap elections with the prior consent of the group and for transferring 9 million AMD to distribute election bribes to two or more people in the village Janfida ” he wrote.
