The delegation headed by Gagik Tsarukyan, Chairman of the “Prosperous Armenia” Party, met in the Russian State Duma with Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy, Chairman of the United Russia faction of the State Duma Sergei Neverov and  Kazbek Taisayev the first Deputy Chair of the Committee for CIS, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots.:

Issues related to the Armenian-Russian strategic, partnership relations, the need for steps aimed at strengthening inter-parliamentary and inter-factional ties were discussed during the meeting. PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan noted that the Armenian-Russian multilateral cooperation and the development of allied relations have no alternative. “Russia is Armenia’s main ally in political, economic and security issues,” he said.

Gagik Tsarukyan outlined the security challenges in particular, where he described Russia’s role in improving the security environment as key one. During the meeting, special reference was made to the issue of the need for steps aimed at increasing the efficiency of the cooperation between the Armenian and Russian parliamentarians in various international parliamentary platforms.”
