Statement of the “Citizen’s Decision” party on the situation around Syunik.

“The encroachment on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia is another manifestation of the aggressive policy pursued by Azerbaijan towards Armenia, which must be properly counteracted.

Military threats are becoming a major, unacceptable tool for Azerbaijan to normalize relations. This is another indication that the neighboring state disregards international law, presents itself as a terrorist organization, and endangers the fragile peace in the region.

The Armenian government should not be blackmailed while at the same time taking all possible effective measures to restore Armenia’s territorial integrity.

We believe that in this situation, all parties, other public-political forces should come to an agreement that before the formation of a new legitimate National Assembly and Government through elections, the current Government and the National Assembly should not sign any negotiation document with Azerbaijan.
