I suggest to get out of this nervous state and understand that negotiations are underway. However, at this stage we do not have final results yet. The Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said this in a conversation with journalists in Goris, referring to the situation in the area of Sev Lich (Black Lake) in Syunik region, the Public TV reports.
“I am convinced that one way or another we will reach a solution, because it is very clear that the Azerbaijani armed forces have crossed the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and we definitely want to resolve the situation peacefully, we are ready to hold discussions in a calm and peaceful situation,” he said.
Avinyan stressed that we must be ready for possible bad developments. “We must be ready to defend our sovereign territory, and in case of a bad scenario we expect the support of our allies. But I hope that we will not have a bad scenario, we will solve all the issues through negotiations,” he emphasized.
To the question on what basis and on what map the Azeris crossed the RA state border, Avinyan answered that the Azeris show maps of unknown origin.
“These maps have nothing to do with the reality on the basis of which their border troops came forward. Nevertheless, the Azerbaijani side confirms their steps for a peaceful settlement. According to them, they do not want to take any steps, but I repeat that we are ready for all possible scenarios,” he added.
Avinyan stressed that they had applied to the CSTO based on the crisis situations management clause. According to him, the realities should not be exaggerated. “Until now, we have been adequate in our actions. The application was officially sent to the CSTO, there is a three-day period, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will inform about the procedure.”
