The CSTO Secretariat told RIA Novosti  that it has not yet received documents from Armenia in connection with the appeal on the situation on the border with Azerbaijan

The CSTO Secretary General discussed the situation with the Armenian Defense Minister.

It should be reminded that the RA Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed the RA Acting Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan, the RA Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan and the RA Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan to start consultations with the CSTO in connection with the fact of the crossing of the RA state border by the Azerbaijani military units in some parts of Syunik and Gegharkunik regions.

Earlier, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas discussed the situation in Syunik region with the acting Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan.

“The CSTO is closely monitoring the situation in the border regions of Syunik region, and if necessary, steps will be taken under the Collective Security Treaty and the CSTO Charter,” the organization said in a statement.

During the May 13 sitting of the CSTO Permanent Council, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the CSTO Viktor Biyagov presented in detail the provocative actions provoked by the Azerbaijani side in the territory of Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia.

During the 12 May sitting of the Security Council, the Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had crossed the state border of the Republic of Armenia in the area of Sev Lich (Black ​​Lake) in Syunik region, and advanced up to 3.5 kilometers.
