The campaign will start on 7 June: The voter will not mark the ballot anymore

Today, on 11 May, the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia made decisions related to the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections.

Thus, the regional lists are eliminated; the simple proportional system with closed ballots will work.

CEC Secretary Armen Smbatyan reminded that in fact the amendment of the Electoral Code proposes the CEC to change the ballot paper of the parliamentary elections.

“Since the elections will be conducted in a purely proportional system, the ballots will not have the back side, there will be no regional candidates, no pen will be used on the ballot. The CEC makes a decision to change the sample ballot. “No marking will be made on the ballot paper during the parliamentary elections,” Smbatyan said.

The voter will make his/her choice as follows: he/she will choose one of the ballots and put it in the envelope.

The draft decision of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia on making changes in the decision No. 139-N of 22November, 2016 was adopted by voting.
