The accusation of the former Minister of Defense Mikael Harutyunyan has been re-qualified. The Press Service of the Special Investigation Service informed this to Iravaban.net.
Harutyunyan is now involved as a defendant under Article 309, Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code (Exceeding official authorities, which negligently caused grave consequences) instead of Article 300.1 of the RA Criminal Code (changing the constitutional order).
Notably, during the events of 1 March, 2008, the prosecutor in charge of the case of Mikael Harutyunyan, who held the post of Minister of Defense, instructed the body conducting the proceedings to re-qualify the accusation and take necessary criminal actions to resolve the issue of new charges. Harutyunyan is currently wanted.
