Normal life of border residents in Syunik region is disrupted: Arman Tatoyan

The normal life of border residents in Syunik marz of the Republic of Armenia is disrupted due to the border process, Azerbaijan’s presence without legal grounds and Azerbaijani actions violating the rights of border residents (impossibility to use pastures, cultivate lands, barriers to water access, etc.). The RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“The main guarantee of the rights of border residents is the provision of border security. Social issues have also been exacerbated by security concerns.

Within the framework of the joint visit of the President of the Republic and the Human Rights Defender to the border communities of Syunik region, the President’s reference to these issues was also important, and it will be included in the proposals of the security zone. This was the main purpose of this joint visit.

“Measures will be taken, including joint ones, aimed at contributing to the solution of other registered problems (social, etc.),” he wrote.
