Journalist Ani Gevorgyan applied to the Human Rights Defender, informing that she had received threats in connection with her professional activity and would apply to the Police.
She informed that by targeting her; her and her minor child’s photo was spread on different pages of social networks. All of these publications contain or are accompanied by insults directed at her, concerning her journalistic activities, with a wide range of degrading remarks.
Taking into account that the application is related to threatening the journalist’s child in connection with her legal professional activity, in that sense targeting her, the Human Rights Defender will send a letter to the Police to keep the case process under attention.
In connection with posting a photo or video of children on social networks, the Human Rights Defender has always urged to be extremely careful. By doing so, you lose the expectation of privacy for your child’s photo or video.
It can become the property of any other person just after it. You can never guess by whom or for what purpose the picture of the child can be used.
