Armenia will continue to acquire Su-30SM jet fighters: Nikol Pashinyan

In an interview with INTERFAX, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia is focused on broad and long-term military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation, which is in the long-term strategic interests of the two countries.

“Taking into account that in accordance with the bilateral interstate agreements, two Armenian-Russian groups have been established and work in the territory of Armenia. The joint group of troops, the joint regional air defense system in the Caucasus region; the two countries are part of the CSTO. It is clear that Armenia is very interested in supplies from Russia,” he said.

Pashinyan noted that Armenia will continue to acquire Su-30CM jetfighters. “These are modern multi-functional fighters, the purchase of which is envisaged both by our bilateral agreement documents and the National Armed Forces Development Program,” he said.

It should be reminded that on 24 March, during the question-answer session between the Government and the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated: “Unfortunately, during the war we did not have time to acquire all the necessary accessories, missiles, which would allow us to use the state-of-the-art Su-30SM weapon with its purpose and power.”
