The Ministry of Defense of the Artsakh Republic, Commander of the Defense Army, Lieutenant General Mikael Arzumanyan sent a letter of condolences on the death of Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan.
“The entire staff of the Defense Army of the Artsakh Republic was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Artsakh Hero, Major General Arkady Ter- Tadevosyan, their beloved Commandos.
Assuming the command of the NKR self-defense forces at a time when the newly independent republic was under complete blockade, forced to resist Azerbaijani aggression, the experienced military undertook to coordinate hostilities with a complex task of forming a regular army on the basis of separate volunteer detachments.
The culmination of the Commandos’ activity was the “Wedding in the Mountains” military operation. It was organized and carried out according to all the rules of high martial arts. When Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan was appointed to another post, Togh and Shushi were liberated, the enemy firing points shelling Stepanakert around the clock were silenced, and Artsakh had a reliable land connection with mother Armenia.
On behalf of the entire staff of the Defense Army of the Artsakh Republic, I express my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the hero of Artsakh, Major General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan.
His name is written in indelible letters in the history of Armenian martial arts. His memory will always be alive in our hearts,” he said.
