Currently, about 1,500 servicemen wounded in the war are actually receiving treatment

During the 44-day war in Artsakh, up to 11,000 wounded and sick people were hospitalized among the servicemen, police, NSS boarder troops and volunteers. As Armenpress reports, the Deputy Head of the Military Medical Department of the RA Armed Forces, Head of the Planning Department, Colonel Gegham Pashikyan stated this in a conversation with journalists on 28 March, summing up the work done by the Military Medical Department during the war. Colonel Pashikyan emphasized that during the war the medical staff worked hard.

“55% had light injuries, 35% had moderate injuries, 7% had serious injuries, and 2% had extremely serious injuries,” Pashikyan said.

The head of the Military Medical Department of the RA Armed Forces, Colonel Sahak Ohanyan, in his turn mentioned that at present about 1500 servicemen are actually receiving treatment, they are on rehabilitation vacation.

“Currently we already have 885 first, second and third degree disabled people. The first and the second-degree disabled people benefit from the support of the Insurance Foundation for Servicemen,” Ohanyan explained.
