The meeting of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” faction Gagik Tsarukyan took place.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported.

“During the meeting we stated that the best way out of the current internal political situation is the early parliamentary elections.

“Taking into account my discussions with the President of the Republic of Armenia, the “My Step” faction, the leader of the “Bright Armenia” faction Edmon Marukyan, early parliamentary elections will be held in the Republic of Armenia on 20 June,” he said.

Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the “Bright Armenia” faction of the National Assembly, made a statement, noting that he had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister.

“The Prime Minister, in response to our demand to organize elections in a short time, suggested discussing 20 June as an election day, as a deadline.

I have mentioned that it is a principle to hold elections in a short period of time, not to leave them until autumn or 2023.

Therefore, I have stated that 20 June, 2021, as a day of special parliamentary elections, is acceptable for us.”
