Azerbaijan tries to present captives as terrorists, does not officially confirm their presence: Artak Beglaryan

Speaking live on his Facebook page, Artak Beglaryan, Chief of Staff of the President of the Artsakh Republic, speaking about the captives and the missing, said:

“Unfortunately, Azerbaijan is still very destructive, I can say it is displaying criminal behavior, as a result of which the fates of many of our compatriots, civilians and military, are not clear. The fate of some of them is clear, they are captives, they are in Azerbaijani prisons, but Azerbaijan tries to present them as terrorists, does not officially confirm their presence, and being there, in contrary to the well-known principles of international law.”

He mentioned that, naturally, the state has a lot to do in this regard, it must use all possible levers.

“To this day, I try to have my personal contribution in the case of the captives. There were cases when there was success, there were cases when there were none. Work is being done by the state bodies of Artsakh, but especially in the political sense, the bodies of the Republic of Armenia are the ones dealing with this issue, the main negotiators,” he said.
