Attorney Norayr Norikyan writes on his Facebook page:
“Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated yesterday during a meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar that many Armenian servicemen have been arrested, who are not prisoners of war, but terrorists.
It is obvious from the above that at the moment there are many Armenian soldiers captured in Azerbaijan, whom Aliyev does not want to return.
I am deeply convinced that this is another pressure on Armenia to make additional demands and extort something more.
In fact, Aliyev is grossly violating the requirements of paragraph 8 of the statement signed by the Prime Minister of Armenia with the President of the Russian Federation on November 9, 2012, according to which the bodies of prisoners of war, hostages, other detainees and the dead are exchanged.
This speaks of another terrorist manifestation of the Azerbaijani political leadership, which does not contribute to easing tensions.
Armenia must resolutely condemn Azerbaijan’s impudent behavior, its gross violations of international law, and demand its immediate return, without preconditions, all prisoners of war and hostages being held immediately.
We cannot sit still and wait for Aliyev’s kindness.
Aliyev’s fascist nature must be brought to the international arena by all possible means in an attempt to curb him.”
