Governor of Syunik marz of the RA Melikset Poghosyan issued a statement stating:

“Dear citizens of Syunik,

For security reasons, I appeal to the residents of our border areas: I ask you all not to go outside the territory of Syunik region guarded by the RA Armed Forces for cutting wood, grazing animals and other purposes.

We inform that the Goris-Kapan road is controlled by the RA Armed Forces, the Armenian-Russian border guards and the military. At the same time, we would like to inform you that on the mentioned road, on the signs, there are the telephone numbers of the command of the border troops, with which you can call, if necessary.
