“There is a new group of prisoners who will return to the homeland in the near future,” lawyer Artak Zeynalyan said in an interview with Public TV today, talking about the return of prisoners.
Answering the question whether there is an approximate number of prisoners in Azerbaijan, Artak Zeynalyan said,
“I am afraid that even the Azerbaijani authorities do not know the truth about how many servicemen have been taken prisoner by them. The reason is that they may not be able to control the whole situation and control over the field commanders or lower ranks. ”
He also mentioned that there are cases when the European Court makes a decision on the restoration of the rights of a specific person.
“We are trying to get the Armenian prisoners of war out of Azerbaijan as soon as possible, because merely being an Armenian is life-threatening in Azerbaijan,” he said.
