Spokeswoman for the Minister of Health Alina Nikoghosyan told Iravaban.net that a pregnant woman died of coronavirus in Yerevan.

According to the information, the 40-year-old woman had corovirus disease, pneumonia, as well as a number of accompanying chronic diseases.

“She was taken to the intensive care unit on 2 December due to progressive respiratory failure. During that time, the Ministry of Health organized double consultations with the involvement of leading specialists of the country, but despite the complex medical measures taken, the patient’s condition continued to deteriorate,” she said.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, on December 11, fetal death was registered, in connection with which a life-saving abortion was performed by caesarean section, during which the heart rhythm was disturbed, blood circulation was stopped, resuscitation measures were taken, the patient was connected to an artificial respiration device.

“On 13 December, the woman’s condition deteriorated sharply, despite the full-scale resuscitation measures, a biological death was registered,” Nikoghosyan said.
