The factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan made a statement.

Statement of the factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the fall of 2020, just one month after the tripartite statement signed on 9 November by the involvement of international terrorists against the Artsakh Republic and the open participation of Turkey in the war unleashed by Azerbaijan, open acts of fragile peace were registered. On the 11 and 12 December, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces launched an open offensive against the villages of Hin Tagher, Khtsaberd and the famous Christian Cataro Monastery in the Hadrut region, as a result of which there were wounded, and the enemy reported the loss of manpower.

All the factions of the Artsakh Parliament strongly condemn the gross violation of the provisions of the tripartite statement, urge the three parties to the statement to take immediate steps to rectify the situation, inform that the authorities of the Artsakh Republic will use all possible means to organize the people’s self-defense.

We draw the attention of the parties to the statement and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to the fact that amid the ongoing tensions, there is a strong need to continue efforts for a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: a priority condition for ensuring the inalienable right to life.

“The factions also condemn the steps taken by the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan to question the effectiveness of the Russian peacekeeping operation, call on the mission leadership to make a targeted assessment of the incident, and fully comply with all conditions of the first point of the statement.”
