The servicemen of the International Demining Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation continue to work in Nagorno Karabakh in the direction of engineering search and demining in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces. The RF Ministry of Defense informed.
The Russian peacekeepers carried out engineering demining in the vicinity of Stepanakert airport, private houses, land plots, as well as power transmission poles, ensuring the safety of the work of the rehabilitation team of the energy infrastructure facilities damaged during the hostilities.
During one day, an area of about 12 hectares was demined, 130 buildings were inspected, and 172 explosive objects were found and neutralized.
In total, the engineering units of Nagorno Karabakh cleared more than 150 hectares of land, about 32km of roads, found and neutralized 4760 explosive objects.
The found explosive objects, unexploded ordnance are taken to a special landfill and destroyed. Ammunition that cannot be evacuated is destroyed on the spot, taking the necessary security measures.
Russian peacekeepers ensure the safe return of civilians to their places of permanent residence, provide humanitarian assistance, and restore civil and engineering infrastructure.
