The National Security Service issued a clarification, which reads:

“Taking into account the fact that during the press conference held a few days ago, numerous inquiries were received from various media outlets about the thoughts voiced by the chairman of the “National Security” Party Garnik Isagulyan, the RA National Security Service considers it expedient to clarify the following.

The RA National Security Service has no information on the veracity of the statements made during the mentioned press conference.

At the same time, we inform that on 25 November, 2020, the RA National Security Service applied to the RA Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the observations presented during the given press conference.

Moreover, we urge individuals and organizations who have their own ideas about the functions of the national security bodies of the Republic of Armenia and do not know the information received within the scope of their powers for understandable reasons, to refrain from publications that mislead the public, provoke internal tension, and undermine the authority of the state structure.

At the same time, we inform that in case of continuing the practice of spreading misinformation and defamatory news of the RA national security bodies, officials, appropriate legal processes will be initiated.”
