Meeting of Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan and Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mailyan

On 28 November, RA Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan met with Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mailyan. The parties exchanged views on the situation in Artsakh, the establishment of a ceasefire, the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh, and the work carried out to restore normal life in Artsakh.

Touching upon the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh caused by the involvement of foreign armed terrorists due to the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Artsakh stressed the priority of providing conditions for the displaced Artsakh Armenians to return to their homeland and protect their rights.

Both sides reaffirmed their efforts to preserve the Armenian religious, historical and cultural heritage in the territories under the control of Azerbaijan, including with the involvement of UNESCO and other specialized international organizations.

Ara Ayvazyan and Masis Mailyan stressed the importance of fully addressing the rights and interests of the Artsakh Armenians in the international arena, including through the protection of the right of self-determination exercised by the people of Artsakh. In this regard, the need to ensure the continuity of cooperation between the two agencies was stressed.
