The “SASNA Tsrer” pan-Armenian movement spread Zhirayr Sefilyan’s message, which reads:

“We note with regret that almost all the sins are often attributed to the army.

The war and defeat were the result of the anti-national and apathetic activity of the whole system of state governance.

The army, no matter how much it is part of that system and not far from its flaws, restrained the enemy with its body and saved us from disaster.

Soldiers, officers and generals fought valiantly and were martyred for the freedom and dignity of all of us.
The quality and investment of other state institutions cannot even be comparable.

I express my support to the Armenian Army, its soldier and commander

At present, the threat of war is very great and, although seriously wounded, again the army has remained as a guarantee of maintaining statehood and ensuring the physical security of all of us.

I ask and urge all my compassionate and reasonable compatriots to face the possible catastrophe that threatens us and not to target the army under any circumstances, but to support it in every way, including with healthy criticism and suggestions.

It is the Armenian army that can become the basis of a truly sovereign and national state.

Let’s protect and strengthen the Armenian army.”
