About 5,000 families in Armenia directly or indirectly depend on the Sotk mine

Candidate of Juridical Sciences, lawyer Arsen Tavadyan wrote on his Facebook page:

“About 5,000 families in Armenia directly or indirectly depend on the Sotk mine.

Throughout the whole process, I hoped that very serious work was being done, at least in terms of this sector.

“If the government does nothing right now, it is depriving some 20,000 people of their livelihood through criminal inaction.”

Notably, on 10 November, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno Karabakh. According to the document, Yerevan and Baku stop at occupied positions and exchange prisoners. Armenia, in turn, returns to Azerbaijan the regions of Kelbajar, Lachin and Aghdam. In addition, Russian peacekeepers are stationed in the conflict zone.
