44-year-old Davit Hovhannisyan died in Davit-Bek, 2 women were injured: General Prosecutor’s Office

The military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan, violating the requirements of the tripartite agreement entered into force on 12 May, 1994, the UN Charter, the Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in War and other conventions, as well as the relevant norms of customary international humanitarian law, continues to wage continues to wage an aggressive war against the Republic of Armenia by using prohibited means and methods of waging war, motivated by national hatred, endangering the lives of many, illegally killing two or more people and deliberately destroying property.

Within this framework, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan continue to deliberately target settlements and civilians in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

On 2 November, 2020, at around 6:10 pm, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan once again carried out intensive strikes on the settlement of Davit-Bek in the Kapan community of the Republic of Armenia, its residents, with large-caliber missiles, volley fire jet systems, and weapons prohibited by international conventions. Many residential houses were destroyed and many houses were destroyed as a result of the civil infrastructure. It should be emphasized that no military facility is located in the mentioned settlement.

Two women from Davit-Bek settlement received shrapnel wounds as a result of the rocket attack, and Davit Yurik Hovhannisyan (born in 1976), a resident of Kapan community, died.

The latter was busy with his daily affairs, was in civilian clothes, and was driving his car.

The RA Military Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal case in under Article 384, Part 2, Article 390, Part 1, Clause 1, Part 3, Clauses 1 and 2 of the RA Military Prosecutor’s Office.
