Russian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on 21 October, following the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s telephone conversations with Armenian and Azeri leaders and Russia’s mediation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.

The issues of fulfillment of the operative situation in the NK conflict zone and the ceasefire agreements were on the agenda of the meeting.

Highly appreciating the immediate efforts of Russia and President Putin in reaching agreements on a ceasefire, Minister Mnatsakanyan stated that the agreements reached remain on paper due to Azerbaijan’s treacherous stance and steps aimed at destabilizing the situation..

Reaffirming Armenia’s dedication to the commitments made by the 10 October Moscow Joint Statement on the Ceasefire and the 17 October Statement, Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized the primary goal of establishing a stable ceasefire maintained through verification mechanisms.
