As a result of the measures taken by the RA Police subdivisions, as of 17:00 on 11 October, 14 cases of prohibited publications were found, 9 of which were carried out by entities carrying out media activities, and 5 by persons who did not carry out media activities.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated in 11 cases; administrative penalties have already been applied in 3. In particular, one person who did not carry out media activities was fined in the amount of 300 thousand drams, two news websites – in the amount of 700 thousand drams. Moreover, one of the news websites did not cancel the publication, so the media outlet, in addition to the mentioned 700 thousand drams, was also fined in the amount of 1 million 500 thousand drams. Measures are being taken to bring the authors of other publications to administrative responsibility.
Notably, the RA Government’s decision “On declaring Martial Law in the Republic of Armenia” provides for a number of restrictions on the implementation of publications and programs.
