Within the framework of the annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which started on 5 October, a plenary session of the Board of Governors was held on 7 October, during which decisions were made on the Strategic Capital Framework of the structure for 2021-2025, the Bank’s report was approved.
At the plenary session, RA Deputy Prime Minister, Alternate Governor of Armenia at the EBRD Tigran Avinyan was elected Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors for 2020-2021. For the first time since our country’s membership in the Bank, the representative of Armenia is elected Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors. Let us remind that in 2021 Yerevan will host the EBRD annual meeting.
Armenia was represented at the EBRD Annual Meeting by Avag Avanesyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Deputy Governor of Armenia at the EBRD. The latter made a speech on the Strategic and Capital Framework for 2021-2025 and the directions of cooperation with the EBRD.
Avag Avanesyan also presented the details of the attack on Artsakh unleashed by Azerbaijan with the support of Turkey and the involvement of terrorists, touched upon the targeting of civilian settlements due to aggression, and as a result, the problems of long-term reconstruction.
