The Ministry of Defense denies the Azerbaijani misinformation about keeping Ganja under fire

The Ministry of Defense denies the information spread by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan that the Armenian Armed Forces are allegedly keeping the Azerbaijani city of Ganja under fire. The press secretary of the Ministry of Defense Shushan Stepanyan said this in a conversation with “Armenpress”.

“There is no fire from Armenia in the direction of the settlements of Azerbaijan, it is just that the Azerbaijani propaganda machine regularly spreads such false information,” Stepanyan said.

It should be reminded that on 27 September, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale attack in Artsakh, targeting the civilian population.

As of 4 October, the Artsakh Armed Forces hit 14 helicopters, 17 planes, 124 unmanned aerial vehicles, and 368 units of armored vehicles, mainly tanks, 82 vehicles, 10 armored personnel carriers, one “TOS-1A” heavy artillery system, 4 “Smerch” and 1 Hurricane volley fire jet systems of the enemy.

The enemy has more than 3154 victims, more than 5270 wounded. According to preliminary data, there are 230 victims from the Armenian side.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces also targeted the military-civilian infrastructure of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which 2 civilians were killed in Gegharkunik, 80 civilians were wounded in Artsakh, 19 people were killed and about 2700 property and infrastructure were damaged.

Journalists of both foreign and local media outlets were wounded in the shelling by the Azerbaijani armed forces.

Martial law was declared in Armenia and in Artsakh on 27 September.
