On 2 October, 2020, the Lori Regional Branch of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association organized a discussion on the first 5 of the 25 topics on the anti-corruption online learning platform within the framework of the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project. Students of the Lori Region Anti-Corruption Club attended the training, (total of 6 participants).
Zarine Hovhannisyan, Lawyer/Program Coordinator of the Vanadzor Office of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, thanked the participants for their presence, and said that the program participants would visit the office in small groups for security reasons.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss 5 topics of basic anti-corruption training:
- Leadership.
- Legal Acts of the Republic of Armenia and the Three Branches of Government, Independent Constitutional Bodies.
- The Concept of Corruption, History and Typology
- International Anti-Corruption Initiatives, Legal Documents and Bodies
- Kuala Lumpur Statement on Anti-corruption Strategies
At the end of the discussion, the participants asked their questions, which mainly referred to legal terminology, the activities of law enforcement agencies operating in the Republic of Armenia, the activities of international organizations.
The courses will be continuous and will be organized regularly, combining the topics with the military situation in Armenia.
The program is implemented in the framework of the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project supported by the Government of Sweden.
