Today, President Armen Sarkissian met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin. The situation in the region and the Armenian-Russian bilateral relations were touched upon during the meeting.

The interlocutors expressed their concern over the tense situation on the border with Armenia, in the Karabakh conflict zone, and stressed the need to find an immediate solution.

The importance of the joint statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs – Russia, France and the US Presidents – was also stressed.
