On 1 October, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia Jonathan Lacotte.

The ambassador expressed his condolences over the recent military and civilian casualties, noting that France is “deeply concerned” about the escalation of the situation and is following the developments closely.

The RA Minister of Defense informed that the volume of hostilities initiated by Azerbaijan with the unconditional support of Turkey is unprecedented, they take place along the entire line of contact. Davit Tonoyan stressed that the Defense Army is fulfilling its tasks, developing success, restraining the aggression unleashed by the enemy, and the offensive operations of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces will continue to receive devastating blows; that process has already begun.

During the meeting an agreement was reached to be in constant touch and to exchange information on developments.

It should be added that today, 1 October, the Azerbaijani armed forces also targeted a car transporting journalists of the Agence France-Presse (AFP) international news agency, which is carrying out a journalistic mission in Artsakh, as a result of which journalists were seriously injured. Le Monde reporter is in critical condition, he is undergoing surgery at Stepanakert Medical Center.
