Yesterday, on the initiative of the Russian side, the Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, the Third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin.

During the meeting, the sides discussed large-scale military operations and escalation along the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border.

In this regard, President Sargsyan informed the Ambassador about the freezing of the RPA’s internal political agenda and national consolidation.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed that there is no military solution to the problem, the aggression of the Azerbaijani leadership against Nagorno Karabakh, and against Armenia, with the open support and intervention of the Turkish military-political leadership, must be prevented by all possible means. The right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination is an inseparable cornerstone of achieving lasting and just peace.

In his turn, Ambassador Kopirkin presented the position of the Russian Federation – its efforts to resolve the situation as soon as possible, both at the national level and within the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country.
