As part of the fact-finding mission launched by the Human Rights Defender’s Office of the Artsakh Republic, a detailed investigation was carried out into the cases of aggression against the civilian population of Artsakh by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the period of 27-30 September.
According to the staff of the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh Republic, a total of seven civilians were killed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, including 1 child girl, 2 men of 24 and 65-year-old, and 4 women of 59, 61, 63 and 79-year-old. The child, four women, a man were killed in the yard of their house, and a young man near the village.
A total of 31 people were seriously injured, 7 of whom were female and 24 male.
Twenty-three of the men were injured in the aftermath of a shell blast at or near their home (two in which the shell exploded in the backyard of an apartment building), and six were hit while being transported to a relatively safe location by vehicle, and 2 in another public place.
10 people were seriously injured in Stepanakert city or adjacent areas, 1 person in Hadrut regional center, 3 people in Taghaser community, 1 person in Vardashat community of the same region, 5 people in Martuni regional center of Martuni, 1 person in Spitakashen community. Martakert regional center in Martakert – 1 person, in the area adjacent to Maghavuz community – 4 people, in N. Horatagh community – 2 people, in Mataghis community of the same region – 1 person, Shahumyan regional center, Karvachar community – 2 people.
The number of affected citizens by age groups has the following picture: up to 14 years old – 3 people, 15-25 years old – 1 person, 26-35 years old – 4 people, 36-50 years old – 8 people, over 50 – 15 people.
The received bodily injuries are mainly located on the lower, upper limbs and face of the victims, in the form of shrapnel wounds.

The Human Rights Defender will soon publish the special report, where, in addition to publishing statistics, he will also present factual and legal analysis,” the statement reads.
