Today, the Public Council of the Republic of Armenia hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopirkin, who was accompanied by his newly appointed advisor Dmitry Kazmin. In his opening remarks, Styopa Safaryan, Chairman of the Public Council, thanked the Ambassador for the first meeting and acquaintance, first of all talking about the close cooperation with the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation during his tenure, which will be summed up in the near future with the signing of a bilateral memorandum.

Enabling regular communication between different public circles of the two countries, Russian Ambassador S. Kopirkin expressed confidence that they would make every effort for the effective cooperation aimed at deepening these relations, which was used in the long-term strategic sense, as the mutual interests are common, regardless of many circumstances.

After a brief discussion of several issues related to cooperation and mutual assistance, the parties exchanged views on the aggravating regional situation and the unleashed war against Artsakh.

Safaryan informed Ambassador Kopirkin that, among other partner organizations, letters would be sent on behalf of the Public Council to the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, where the Russian counterparts would be briefed on the situation and objective information would be provided.
