On 2 September, the Academy of Justice hosted the awarding of diplomas to the persons included in the 2020 list of candidates for prosecutors with the function of confiscating property of illicit origin. RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, members of the Academy’s Board of Directors, the Academy staff, and guests participated.

Rector of the Academy Sergey Arakelyan greeted those present, noting that a new structure is being formed in our state legal system, the ranks of which are filled by today’s graduates. On this occasion, the Rector congratulated Srbuhi Galyan as the RA Deputy Prosecutor General coordinating the sphere. “I have participated in both the selection and professional training of candidates, which gives grounds to express hope that they are professionally and spiritually ready to assume this difficult and responsible position,” the Rector said.

RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan congratulated the present for giving a practical start to the RA Law on Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin. “It is difficult to overestimate the historical significance of this unprecedented state toolkit provided by law. There is no doubt that a serious, responsible opportunity has been provided in Armenia to realize the generated objective public expectations for the restoration of social justice. “We will take serious steps to restore social justice with the implementation of the law,” Artur Davtyan said.

The professional training of the persons included in the 2020 list of candidates for prosecutors with the function of confiscation of property of illicit origin lasted for 8 weeks, according to the relevant training program. Given the situation, the training was conducted online.

The event dedicated to the awarding of diplomas was held in compliance with the anti-epidemic rules.
