The preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on the case of poisoning of Armavir city residents continues in the Armavir Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee.

It turned out that a number of residents of the city of Armavir had acquired an alcoholic beverage of unknown origin, which did not meet the requirements of consumers’ life and health, after which they were poisoned. 9 people died, 2 people are in serious condition.

It should be reminded that as a result of the measures taken, Ashot Lendrush Hovsepyan, a resident of Armavir, born in 1970, was arrested on suspicion of selling goods that did not meet safety requirements.

Operative measures are being taken to find the “30 liters of alcohol” purchased by the citizens, as well as to find out the identities of all the buyers.

The investigation is underway. Investigative-judicial actions are carried out in order to find out all the circumstances of the case, to ensure an objective, complete and comprehensive investigation.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
