“Citizen’s Decision” Party issued a statement: “On 4 August of this year, the “Lydian Armenia” Company violated the status quo established two years ago in the Amulsar issue. This provocation is another step of the provocative strategy that started a month ago, in which they try to solve their problems through an armed security group, removed the trailers placed by the citizens in the public area, and placed the company’s trailers in their place. In the current situation, the demands of the citizens are:
- The trailers belonging to the company should be removed,
- Illegal and provocative security group should be removed,
- The government should clarify the terms of the final decision.
These intermediate steps are necessary to alleviate the tension created by the company these days.
The main demand of the citizens remains unchanged – to ban the exploitation of the mine in the area of Amulsar.
The “Citizen’s Decision” Party reaffirms its position on the Amulsar issue, supporting both the intermediate and final demands of the citizens.
First of all, we consider it reprehensible that this provocation was carried out in the conditions of an epidemic, taking into account that the citizens will not have the opportunity to exercise their rights.
It is reprehensible that the government has become a routine instrument in this anti-human calculus and has assumed the function of suppressing fair and peaceful rallies.
After all, the working style of the ruling force to postpone the solution of the problem that has been exhausting the citizens for more than two years, to leave the citizens alone against the supranational capital, to ignore the reasonable arguments and to violate the declared principles.
The government must show political will, give a final solution to the issue, based on revolutionary values, principles and inalienable human rights. This is the mission and working style of a real revolutionary force.”
