Arman Kurekhyan, Candidate for Judge of the Constitutional Court: “I have no fears about undergoing vetting”

Mr. Arman Kurekhyan Chairman of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Tavush Marz has self-nominated as a candidate for a judge of the Constitutional Court.

In an interview with Iravaban.net, he mentioned that as a result of these elections, the provisions of the 2015 amendment to the Constitution related to the Constitutional Court will be finally implemented.

According to the judge, the experience and knowledge gained as a result of 13 years of activity in the system will enable him, if elected, to carry out the mission of a high court judge.

“I do not see anything wrong with passing the vetting; I have no fears about it. On one occasion, I already announced at the sitting of the Supreme Judicial Council that I do not have any kindred, friendly, crony or any other relationship with any high-ranking official, and even more so I have no such connections with criminal groups. Of course, I am ready to present all the information about my property situation, despite I have already submitted last year’s property and income declaration, so I do not see any problem in that issue, I have no fears,” Arman Kurekhyan said.
