The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement regarding the operations on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, expressing concern over the sharp aggravation of the situation.

“There is information that the hostilities continue, artillery is used, there are victims and wounded. Our condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims. We consider inadmissible the further escalation threatening the security of the region. “We urge the parties to show restraint and adhere strictly to the ceasefire,” the statement said.

Official Moscow is ready to provide the necessary assistance to stabilize the situation.

Notably, on 12 July, at around 12:30, the servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces made an attempt to cross the RA state border in the direction of Tavush in a UAZ car. After the warning of the Armenian side, the Azerbaijani servicemen left the UAZ car and returned to their position.

The EU Special Representative is concerned about the escalation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

At 13:45, the servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces repeated the attempt to occupy the border position of the Armenian Armed Forces using artillery fire, but were pressured by the Armenian side, suffering losses and being thrown back.
